Ms. Osier - Gloria Sun and Daniel Levin
Teacher: Ms. Osier
Subject Area: Business (Management, BTT)
Technology Used: Netbooks, Weebly, Windows Live Movie Maker, Audacity & Prezi
Description
This project involved the use of many different technologies in order to enrich both Ms. Osier's grade 9 and 12 business classes. This placement not only helped to enrich Ms. Osier's classes but also improved Ms. Osier's own skills in technology and its uses in teaching.
Grade 12 Management ISP
The purpose of this project was to create a documentary about a business leader using the technologies of Windows Live Movie Maker and Audacity. A tutorial was administered by us to two separate classes of grade 12's. The first presentation was a general introduction to Windows Live Movie Maker and Audacity. A power point was presented to the class with a slideshow that showed a screenshot of each individual step. Netbooks were administrated to students during this period in order to get them following along with the tutorial. The second presentation was administered later and Netbooks were distributed in class as a tool in order to help students complete their projects. Any outstanding questions were answered in order to help the students successfully complete their projects. Set-up of the presentation and transport of Netbooks was completed by us. Overall, the presentation helped the management class learn the fundamental basics of Windows Live Movie Maker and Audacity as well as learn how to apply it to their presentation.

Grade 9 BTT Website Creation
The purpose of this project was to create a website that could replace Ms. Osier's old one. Ms. Osier had a Google doc website that was very bland that was not functioning properly. By using Weebly, it was easy to create a website that is simple and easy to edit, just in case, Ms. Osier needs to change anything. Also, Weebly made it easy to rearrange the assignments so that they went in numerical order, which is something that Ms. Osier had a problem with in the Google website. The new website features drop down menus, an attractive banner made using Photoshop, and all the necessary files required for the course. To sum up, Weebly allowed us to create a visually appealing and easy to use website for Ms. Osier and her grade 9 class.

Possible uses in other classes/subject areas
Windows Live Move Maker is a great video editing tool, perfect for a wide range of subjects, such as business and other courses. For example, it would be great in any project that requires editing a video, adding music, recording voices, etc. Windows Live Movie Maker was used by Ms. Osier's class to create a documentary. However, you can create more than just a documentary. You can use this tool to create movies, slideshows, and more! In some science classes, students can use Windows Live Movie Maker to create videos for their ISP's. They can add text, titles, captions and cool transitions.
