Project Description
For this placement, I contacted Ms. Sugarman with interests in changing her website platform from Google Sites to Weebly. She agreed and we got to work.
At first, I introduced Ms. Sugarman to the concept of Weebly and showed her the IDC Teacher Mock Site. I walked her through the steps of making a website and adding pages. Next I showed her how to drag-and-drop elements onto the page. We started with simple titles and paragraphs, then moved on to the more complex elements such as columns and buttons.
After the basics were covered, I demonstrated how to import Youtube videos onto the site and upload assignments/handouts. I demonstrated how to save Powerpoint files into Power Point Presentations (.ppts) in which the slides and information cannot be edited. Due to the size limit of uploaded files on Weebly, I demonstrated how to compress images in order to lower the file size. The site was worked on for a bit on her own time.

Other Technology Uses
Weebly: Weebly is a wonderful site-creating website that is simple to use and easy to comprehend. I would recommend this mostly for social science courses due to the incredible amount of handouts and information that is given. Of course, any other department is encouraged to use Weebly. Missed assignments can be gathered from the site, a calendar can be added, and more.
